Ever considered whatever makes a
human to say, ‘I’d rather die…’ or why they could throw rocks at another human, without a prior attack? – You sincerely may not know what you
are capable of in the power of your mind until the depth of your belief finds
expression. Just the way this lady on Hijab would never know she could kill a fellow female in the name of a belief/
religion.
(now late) Deborah Samuel, a student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, has just been horribly massacred by fellow students, after she is said to have posted the lines above on their group page. What now do we say? Do we blame her for airing her views on the social media? Do we take it for an abuse on others’ belief? Does a counter-belief not equally validate a system of belief in humanity? How many atheists have been mobbed in the “God owned Countries”? Is it still a religion to kill other humans because of the eminence of your faith? Do we not see a very high measure of effrontery in the mob who equally videoed the act? Should this rather be because a nation is law-free and anything goes?

With an
undertone of Allah be praised! And a noise of excitement mixed with malignance,
a mob of religious students gathered to stone their colleague to death. She had
merely typed to connote that the religious posts on their academic page are
nearly overriding the purpose of the page according to reports, and the next
reality is a screen of horror splashing up her blood against a mocker’s camera
and religious jubilations.
Too many
arguments squint the air about the godliness of such religion that is bestial
to fellow human, and not any religion is ready to personalize such behavior as
a tenet of faith; not even Islam in which these inane creatures claim their
faith.

Humanity is yet a faculty of such
possibilities that would ever baffle you, and while there is a salient quest
for freedom in all beliefs; there is also an eternal bond of the mind to each. Deborah
Samuel was said to have posted a blasphemous statement against Islam on the
social media, and the questions don’t stop coming on why she must die for this.
But, did you ever consider that you become a slave to whatever belief that
stands in your mind? The truth is that the human mind is a tabularaza, it bears
whatever is written on it.
Billy Graham opines that humans are truly free to have freedom of religion, but not the freedom from religion. Whatever made a church of people walk barefooted because a saint did once, could have made them kill anyone who abuses their Lord because Peter cut off a piece of ear if Jesus never rebuked him or condemned the act.
Just so you come to cognizance of this reality; your mind is capable of going as weird as possible over any measure of conception that you build in it. The human tendency to go wrong is sacrosanct over all other behavioral possibilities, and you may be true to admit that your natural man finds passion for the things that are you retaliate about than the good gestures which may go without a reward. Thus, humans go weird because they have allowed for the terrible sides of their mind conceptions to gain stature, and religion or beliefs are dogmatic enough to become catalysts to the expression of the bizarre.

Your mind is the greatest faculty
for nurturing beliefs, and it will never present it to your heart at the same measure
at which it first took it in. Your mind is sure to expand the possibilities in all
beliefs while channeling them to your heart to build a system of life from them
– attitudes and characters are thus fruits exuding from these roots.
Any conception therefore, that
has the tendencies of leaving you without bridles is equally liable to taking
you to the unbelievable – especially when you become religious about it; being tirelessly
and uncontrollably committed to it. There was a Peter (for instance), who could
fight for his master, but later denied him; (religion). Yet, there was another
Peter who would not mind being jailed for his master (though now he does not
see him), and would not even raise a hand against his tormentors too. If this
too was religion, then it is such that has the potency to turning a man into
their own GOD; the God of their Heart, Mind and Spirit – just like most tenets
of faith would enjoin you to wholly be given to your religion. How a human's religion has tendencies of making them their own God or just as their God!
Yet, till time present, such vigor
that makes one human kill another with a public display of a particular
religious identity, leaves humanity with the questions of defining Islam in all
its ramifications, since too many Islamists have proven to be some of the most humane fellows you'd meet, while some are otherwise. This is likewise in all religions until you express just who/what you believe.
